The Bharat NCAP crash test authority have released their first set of results in which the new Tata Safari and Harrier have scored 5-star ratings. Just over a month back, the vehicles were awarded a 5-star rating from Global NCAP as well.
The vehicles have received a 5-star rating for both adult occupant protection and child occupant protection. The vehicles scored 30.08/32 points for AOP and 44.54/49 points for COP. These points are not very different from the points that these vehicles scored in the GNCAP tests.
The testing parameters in Bharat NCAP seem to be more or less similar to Global NCAP. The only noticeable difference we saw is that BNCAP has a maximum point score of 32 for AOP while the same in GNCAP is 34.
Bharat NCAP will also test many other cars that are popularly sold in India and their ratings will be published in the near future. Is there any particular car’s crash test rating that you’re looking forward to?
