Tata Motors has rolled out the 1st Harrier from their new production line in Pune.
Tata Motors finally takes the wraps off the new Harrier SUV. The production version looks very close to the H5X concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. We must say, the designers have done a great job in keeping the styling quite upmarket.
The front profile gets a huge grille accompanied by LED DRLs that take the position of conventional headlamps. The projector headlights are positioned below the DRLs. There is a black cladding running throughout the lower body of the car and there are huge skid plates at the front and rear.
The side profile gets huge wheel arches and even the ORVMs are oversized if you notice. Coming to the rear, there is a sleek tail light cluster and a muscular tail gate design, which looks quite unique.
The new assembly line in the Pune plant has been built in 6 months of record time with the manufacturing practices adopted from Jaguar Land Rover. It comes with 90 percent automation levels with over 100+ KUKA and ABB robots.
The Harrier is based on a monocoque platform and it will be coming with a 2.0-litre diesel engine offering both auto and manual transmission options. We expect Tata to launch the Harrier in January 2019 as the bookings for the new SUV have commenced already.
