The interiors of the Tata Harrier get premium features and a cool looking instrument cluster.
The spy images of the Tata Harrier don’t seem to stop coming. Only recently, the compact SUV was seen testing with a fully camouflaged body and a fairly clear image of the interiors was seen. But now, the clearest images of the Harrier’s interiors have come out and it does look like a step up from what Tata cars offer now.
The dashboard of the Tata Harrier will have an all-black finish with silver accents on the door handles and around the infotainment system. The infotainment system looks bigger than what we find on the Tata Nexon and should support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system nicely flows into the AC vents. Its design is symmetrical as the lower part is an upside down image of the infotainment system’s body. Below that is a digital display for HVAC and buttons for controlling the same.
The multi-function steering wheel looks chunky and is similar to the ones found in new Tata cars. There are contours on either bottom corners for comfortable palm placement. Voice controls too should be offered considering that the Tata Harrier will be a premium SUV from the company. The centre-panel houses the 6-speed manual transmission ahead of which sit the Tata drive mode controls. This seems to be the high-spec variant as there is a stop/start button.
Seen for the first time are the brown coloured quilted seats. The colour is also present on the door panels. Also seen clearly is the funky looking instrument cluster. It is a combination of an analogue speedometer with an even bigger digital display. The tachometer will be shown on the digital display along with other readings like distance to empty and fuel level among others. The key fob for the Tata Harrier is exactly the same as the Tata Nexon and has four buttons on it. Hold it vertically and the top two buttons will allow you to remotely lock/unlock the doors. The buttons on the centre are for switching on the headlights and opening the boot.
The Tata Harrier will look quite aggressive and sporty as the company has already stated that it will borrow 85 percent of its design clues from the Tata H5X concept. It will be fun to see if the Harrier really stands up to the hype.
