Tata Motors is set to decide upon the launch date of the Gravitas, which it says will fall within the last quarter of the current financial year.
Gravitas is a 7-seater SUV based on the Harrier and will sit on top of the automaker’s portfolio of cars. While Tata has only stated that the car will be launched in the fourth quarter of FY21, we reckon it will be during March.
On the other hand, unlike the Tata Gravitas launch date, the firm is yet to fix the dateline for the launch of the HBX subcompact SUV, denoting that the model’s introduction is set to be delayed further.
With their introduction, the firm will have four models, Nexon and Harrier included, in its SUV portfolio, which, it claims, would be the widest.
This, the company claims would help strengthen its market position and sales in the coming years.
Indeed, the SUV segment has grown exponentially in recent times, with the segment’s share in total sales rising from 15 percent in 2015 to 30 percent this year.
In terms of sales, the Nexon did its highest ever numbers last month and Harrier’s sales have risen post introduction of the automatic version.
One other thing Tata Motors is focusing on is improving its sales, aftersales and service verticals to enhance the overall experience for customers.
Employees are being imparted soft skills apart from technical training and the company is also focusing on the issues with its dealer partners including their financial health and profitability.
Currently, Tata Motors has over 800 dealerships for its passenger vehicle portfolio across the country.
