Tata has revealed the Curvv ICE and Curvv EV ahead of the launch that is set to take place on 7th August. The highly anticipated vehicle will get petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. The Curvv will sit between the Nexon and Harrier in Tata Motors’ line-up.
The brand is also introducing a couple of new colours – Virtual Sunrise for the EV and Gold Essence for ICE. The Coupe SUV design is the first one to be introduced by an Indian automaker and the vehicle is expected to be loaded with features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ADAS, large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 6 airbags, TPMS, ABS, TCS, etc.
Tata will offer the vehicles in multiple personas like their other SUVs and we can also expect multiple colour themes for the interiors. It is going to be interesting to see how is the space management in the cabin of the car.
Talking about mechanicals, the Curvv ICE will get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. There is a likelihood of a new 1.5 turbo petrol engine too. We can expect all the engines to get the option of manual and automatic. The Curvv EV will get a new battery which will be bigger than the Nexon’s and will have a claimed range of more than 500 kms.
All the variants of the Curvv will have a front wheel drive layout. The Tata Curvv will give competition to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos while the upcoming Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV will also be a direct rival.
