Tata Curvv EV launch soon, ICE version to follow later

Tata Motors has teased its upcoming all-electric coupe SUV, the Curvv EV, signalling that its official debut may be imminent. Previously showcased only as a concept, the Curvv EV marks Tata’s second vehicle built on its Acti.ev architecture, following the earlier release of the Punch EV.

In addition to the all-electric version, Tata Motors plans to offer an internal combustion engine model of the Curvv, which will be introduced to the market subsequent to the EV launch. The ICE version was recently displayed in a near-production form at the Bharat Mobility Expo, showcasing its design and features.

The latest teaser video reveals the Curvv EV’s sleek silhouette with a coupe-like roofline, highlighting distinctive design elements such as pop-out door handles and metallic accents around the front air intakes. The SUV’s daytime running lamps and headlamps, which bear resemblance to those on the Nexon EV, were also shown. Additional design features include a connected tail lamp setup and uniquely styled alloy wheels. The teaser further hints at the range of colour options that will be available for the vehicle.

Inside, the Curvv EV is expected to offer a minimalistic design, emphasising simplicity with few buttons and a freestanding infotainment system. The coupe SUV is also anticipated to come equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems suite, enhancing safety and driving convenience.

While Tata Motors has yet to disclose specific details about the Curvv EV’s powertrain, there is speculation that the vehicle may feature a dual-motor setup. Tata will be offering multiple variants of the Curvv. It is expected to deliver a claimed range of over 500 km, positioning it competitively within the electric vehicle market.
