Tata Curvv EV launched with introductory pricing, available in two battery packs

Tata Curvv EV, the much awaited SUV Coupe, has been launched with an introductory starting price of Rs. 17.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). You can have a look at the complete pricing table below. The electric vehicle is available in medium and long range battery pack variants.

The Tata Curvv EV is available with two battery pack options. The 40.5kWh battery powers the Creative, Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants, offering an MIDC range of 502 km.

The larger 55kWh battery, available in the Accomplished, Accomplished+, Empowered+ and Empowered+ A variants, delivers an MIDC range of 585 km. According to Tata’s C75 standard, which is closer to real-world conditions, the long-range model can achieve 400-425 km on a single charge, while the 40.5kWh version offers 330-350 km. For comparison, the MG ZS EV’s 50.3kWh battery has an ARAI-rated range of 461 km.

All variants of the Curvv EV come with a 167 HP electric motor mounted on the front axle, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 8.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/hr. Tata Motors claims that the battery can achieve 150 km of range with just 15 minutes of charging and 10-80 percent charge in 40 minutes using a 70kW charger. The Curvv EV also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

The Curvv EV shares its interior layout with the Curvv, featuring a dual-tone white and grey colour scheme for the all-electric version. The dashboard design, reminiscent of the Nexon, includes a 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen and a touch-based climate control panel. The steering wheel, similar to the one in the Harrier, includes paddle shifters for adjusting regeneration modes. Higher-end models boast a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation, a rotary drive selector, a wireless charging pad and a gear lever.

Practicality is enhanced with a frunk and a 500-litre boot space. Premium features on the top-tier variants include leatherette upholstery, ventilated six-way adjustable front seats, a two-step rear seat recline function, a cooled glove box, front and rear 45W Type-C charging ports, connected car technology, the Arcade.ev app suite, a panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate with gesture control. Additionally, a 320W 9-speaker JBL sound system is available on top-spec models.

Safety features are comprehensive, including six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, hill-start and descent assist, ESP, a driver drowsiness alert system, a blind spot monitor, and Level 2 ADAS features. The Curvv EV also emits a sound alert up to speeds of 20kph to warn pedestrians.

The Curvv EV and its internal combustion engine counterparts have subtle design differences. The EV features a closed-off grille, a nose-mounted charger that automatically closes once the vehicle starts and distinct vertical styling elements on the lower bumper. The EV variant is distinguished by 18-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels. The LED lights at both ends feature a welcome signature.

Tata Motors has introduced an official line of accessories, Tata.ev Originals, allowing buyers to personalize the Curvv EV’s exterior and interior.

Currently, the Curvv EV’s primary competitor is the MG ZS EV. With its competitive pricing and extensive features, the Curvv EV aims to attract a significant share of the electric vehicle market in India.
