Tata Bolt Website Goes Live, Competition Beware

Creating the much needed hype for its all-new product, Tata Motors has launched the Bolt hatchback website that reveals all the specifications and details about the hatchback. Tata has created a more youthful website with the use of brighter colours and a tech friendly layout compared to the one on the Zest. This also talks about the company’s target audience for both the cars. While the Zest is targeted towards family buyers, the Bolt hatchback is for the young modern buyer.

Sharing its underpinnings with the Zest compact sedan; the Bolt measures 3825 mm in length, 1695 mm in width and 1550 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2470 mm (same as the Zest). The Bolt retains the tall boy stance from the earlier Vista, but gets a design over haul for a modern and sporty appearance. The rear gets comprehensive changes with the Christmas tree stacked tail lights being replaced by more compact units. The rear is also more compact and is rather distinctively different than other hatchbacks in the segment.

The extensive features list from the Zest are on offer on the Bolt as well. You get the EPAS power steering system, a Harman Infotainment system, MapmyIndia navigation, one-touch 5-inch touchscreen system control that controls the multimedia system and the auto air-con unit, advanced Bluetooth telephony, smart voice integration, advanced smartphone integration with phone enabled navigation and much more. You also get the three driving modes namely Cruise, Eco and Sport that alter the engine response for efficiency or improved driving dynamics, as per your choice. Most of these features will be a segment first when the car is launched in the country in the first half of June.

The Tata Bolt hatchback is powered by the all-new 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine producing 85 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 140 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM, while the 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel unit makes 75 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 190 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM (Zest makes 90 PS). Both the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the AMT gearbox from the Zest won’t make it to the Bolt. You also get advanced ABS, and a segment first cornering stability feature as part of the safety kit.

Tata Motors is making sure that both of its new products look as appealing to the target audience as possible. From our first impressions, the levels of quality have improved drastically and we do expect to see the same in the overall build quality of the vehicle. The company is currently renovating its dealerships across India to welcome the new products and the product language that will take the company forward in the market. The launch date and prices haven’t been disclosed yet. Check out the website HERE.
