Tata Altroz turbo petrol variant has been spied ahead of its expected festive season launch and as seen in the picture, the hatchback gets a new blue colour paint option as well.
The premium hatchback was launched earlier this year with two engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol which is naturally aspirated and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel.
This being the time where turbo has once again become the new cool, like it did in Europe in the 80s, Tata Altroz turbo petrol spied car will also come with a turbocharged petrol engine.
Expected to displace similar capacity of the naturally aspirated petrol powerplant that already does duty in the car, the 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine will make 102 PS of max power at 5500 RPM and 141 Nm of peak torque between 1750-4000 RPM.
This is more than what the non-turbo 1.2-litre petrol unit develops at the moment, as its power figures stand at 86 PS and 113 Nm torque.
While it will get a 5-speed MT, like the other two variants, a DCT might also be offered as an option, but more clarity on the matter will come with the launch.
Most likely, the Altroz turbo petrol spied by us will be based on the top variant. But, Tata might also offer it in a couple of variants to make it more affordable.
Cosmetic tweaks will also likely be made on the car to give it a more sporty attitude in comparison with regular variants, but equipment levels might stay the same.
