Tata Motors has officially released the teaser of the Altroz turbo petrol as a New Year gift to its customers ahead of its 13th January 2021 launch.
Although several vehicle launches have been scheduled heading into 2021, the launch of the Altroz Turbo petrol has been long overdue and much anticipated.
To be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will put out a maximum of 108 HP at 5500 RPM and 140 Nm of peak torque at 1500-5500 RPM, the premium hatchback will also come with a DCT gearbox.
Sourced from Punch Powertrain, the DT1 dry clutch DCT unit will have parts from Schaeffler India as well. A 5-speed manual, though, will be the mainstay.
As seen in the Tata Altroz turbo petrol teaser the car will come with a new blue paint option. Save for some model-specific badging, no exterior changes are likely to be made.
Inside, there might be some sporty touches like metal pedal finishers, red stitching, among others. But, we will have to wait until the car gets launched to be sure about that.
Now for the price. Leaked documents show us that the turbo petrol variant of the Altroz will cost between Rs. 7.99 lakhs and Rs. 8.75 lakhs (ex-showroom) spread across four variants.
The main rival to the Altroz turbo petrol is the Hyundai i20 turbo petrol, while the Volkswagen Polo TSI is still in the fray.
