Tata Motors working on a more powerful Altroz, launch later this year.
Launched in January 2020, the Tata Altroz comes with two engine options. It has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel on offer. A new turbo petrol engine will be added soon.
Tata will introduce the 1.2-litre turbo petrol version by the festive season this year. It is expected to launch by October. This engine will come with a power output of 100 HP and 141 Nm of torque.
In comparison, the regular 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 86 PS and 113 Nm torque. The Tata Altroz turbo petrol was spotted testing recently and it is also rumoured to come with a DCT automatic transmission.
Yes, 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with dual clutch auto box and 5-speed manual gearbox option. Currently, the Altroz is offered with manual transmission only.
Tata might give it sporty cosmetic tweaks distinguishing the turbo model. There were other rumours about a more powerful 110 BHP diesel Altroz. However, that seems unlikely because the existing diesel is already quite punchy.
