Tata Developing Honda City Rival Sedan Based On Altroz

Tata E-Vision EV Concept Unveiled

Tata has started working on the Alfa platform based C-segment sedan.

The design language will be borrowed from the E-Vision concept

Of late Tata Motors has been introducing, showcasing a wide range of SUVs. Starting from the HBX micro SUV concept up to the Gravitas full-size 7-seater SUV. What’s missing though is a sedan lineup in their portfolio.

After the discontinuation of Indigo siblings and Zest, Tata Motors only has the Tigor compact sedan in their lineup which is the only three box design (almost) product in their fleet.

The Indian carmaker has now started to work on a new C-segment sedan that will be based on the Alfa platform on which the Altroz hatchback is made. The new sedan from Tata Motors will take inspiration from the E-Vision concept car which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018.

Based on the new Impact 2.0 design language, the new Tata sedan is expected to have a sleek design with spacious and airy looking interiors as showcased in the E-Vision concept.

The key rivals of the upcoming Tata sedan include the Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Powertrain options are not yet clear but we expect Tata to offer petrol and diesel engine options along with an electric version.

The new sedan is in its initial development stage and we have not even seen a single test mule of the car yet. Which means the launch of the production version is still at least a year away.
