Tata Altroz Racer bookings open officially, teaser reveals new features
Tata Altroz Racer is all set to launch in the next few days. The Indian carmaker has started accepting bookings for the performance hatchback. It will be available in three trims – R1, R2 and R3. There will be three colours on offer – Atomic Orange, Avenue White and Pure Grey.
We have already seen the exterior multiple times in the spy shots and during the Bharat Mobility Expo. It comes with dual tone colour treatment with white stripes on the roof and the hood. There is a larger roof mounted spoiler as well to add to the sporty touch. However, the alloy wheel remains the same as the standard model. Tata Motors showcased all-black multi-spoke alloys on the concept car showcased at the exhibits.
The interior comes with all-black treatment and contrast colour elements including the stitching, stripes on the upholstery and even ambient lighting. The Altroz Racer will be getting features like 360 degree camera, ventilated seats and blind spot monitoring system. It will get the new 10.25-inch touchscreen system along with the new all-digital instrument cluster with the latest UI that is currently being offered with the newer models of Tata.
Powering the Tata Altroz Racer is a Nexon borrowed 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor which produces 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque. It will come with a 6-speed manual transmission only and a louder exhaust note for the sporty appeal. There will be no automatic transmission on offer at the time of launch.
The Tata Altroz Racer is expected to be priced around Rs. 11 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete head-on with the Hyundai i20 N Line, which is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque.
