Tata Motors has launched the Altroz iTurbo with a starting price tag of Rs. 7.73 lakhs (ex-showroom), today in India.
When the Altroz got launched, it came with a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol motor and a turbocharged 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
This being the era of the resurgence of the turbo petrol motors in India, Tata has come up with the Altroz iTurbo which has good power and loads of goodies.
This car is all about what lurks under the bonnet. The 1199cc 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor produces 110 PS at 5500 RPM and 140 Nm of torque between 1500 and 5500 RPM.
A 5-speed transmission sends the power to the front wheels and the car can achieve do 18.13 km/l while having a power-to-weight ratio of a little over 100 PS per tonne.
What makes the Tata Altroz iTurbo price palatable is the amount of features it comes with as standard. Offered from the XT trim and above, the car has a 7-inch floating touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cooled glove box, idle start-stop, cruise control, parking assist with rear camera, push button start-stop, among several others.
These are just a few features offered with the XT trim and the top-spec XZ+ variant comes with even more kit like Xpress Cool, personalised wallpaper on infotainment screen, one shot up power windows, leatherette seats, wearable key and rear fog lamps too.
Moreover, Tata also offers the iRA (Intelligent Real time Assist) connected car technology which comes with 27 features with layers of 5 connectivity, natural voice tech (the system understands commands in English, Hindi and Hinglish) and What 3 Words.
What’s more, the iTurbo variants come with specific features such as “City” and “Sport” drive modes and 2 additional tweeters by Harman, while the cabin comes with a black and light grey theme.
Design-wise, nothing has changed, save for model-specific badging. But the new Harbour Blue shade is a nice addition to the car’s colour palette and the hatchback can be specified with a black contrast roof too.
