Tata Altroz CNG bookings open, launch in May
Tata Motors have commenced the bookings of Altroz CNG with a booking amount of Rs. 21,000/-. Deliveries will commence from May 2023 and the price will be announced around the same time.
The biggest drawback of a CNG equipped car is the lack of boot space. Tata Motors have tried to address that by dividing the size of a single CNG tank into two small tanks.
The Altroz i-CNG comes with a new twin-cylinder setup with a total water capacity of 60 kg (30+30). This has been done to maximise boot space of the hatchback. The spare wheel is also present under the car.
The car is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86 HP and 113 Nm in petrol mode and 77 HP and 97 Nm in CNG mode. There will be no automatic transmission on offer. It will only come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
It comes with ‘Single Advanced ECU’, the carmaker claims that it ensures a seamless and jerk free experience while shifting from petrol to CNG mode or vice versa.
It also comes with ‘Direct start in CNG mode’. In terms of safety, it gets thermal incident protection, gas leak detection feature and micro switch to ensure the car is switched off at the time of refuelling.
Tata Motors is offering 3 year/ 1,00,000 km standard warranty. The Altroz i-CNG will be available in four variants – XE, XM+, XZ and XZ+. There are four colours on offer – Opera Blue, Downtown Red, Arcade Grey and Avenue White.
