Tata Punch facelift to launch by mid-2025
Tata Motors launched the Punch EV yesterday with a starting price of Rs. 10.99 lakhs (ex-showroom & introductory). The pure electric version gets significant changes over the ICE model in terms of styling and features. The Indian carmaker will introduce similar visual updates and new features with the facelifted Punch, which is set to launch by mid-2025.
It is expected to get the new design language with new front fascia boasting new LED DRLs, LED bi-functional headlights, new grille design and updated bumpers. The rear profile too might get some tweaks and the updated version will be getting new alloy wheel design as well.
Features like larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with 10.2-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, 360 degree camera, blind spot monitor, etc. are also expected to be offered in the updated version of petrol powered Punch.
Tata Motors showcased the Altroz EV concept for the first time at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and later in 2020 at the Auto Expo. It’s been a long while since we have heard anything about the launch of the Altroz EV but now the carmaker has confirmed that it will be introduced in 2025.
The pure electric hatchback looks the same as its ICE counterpart but now we believe it will be launched with a heavily updated design for the exterior and the interior. Tata Motors is expected to offer new headlights, redesigned grille with connected DRLs, new bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels.
The interior is expected to come with an updated dashboard, new steering wheel borrowed from its latest siblings, new features like 10.2-inch screens, 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, mood lighting, electronic parking brake with auto hold, etc.
The Tata Altroz EV is likely to borrow the motor and batteries from the Nexon EV. The Nexon EV is currently offered with Medium Range and Long Range variants with 30kWh battery and 40.5kWh battery respectively. The electric powertrain in the Medium Range produces 129 HP and 215 Nm torque and in the Long Range version it produces 142 HP and 215 Nm of torque.
