Tata dealers had unofficially started taking bookings for the Altroz automatic only a day earlier
Tata Motors has begun accepting bookings for the new automatic variant of the Altroz. The automaker has set the token amount for the model at Rs. 21,000/-.
Called the Altroz DCA (for dual clutch automatic), this new variant of the premium hatchback will be its first automatic trim. Thus far, the car has come only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The automatic Altroz uses a wet clutch transmission which, Tata claims, ensures the best performance for driving conditions in the country. The dual clutch transmission will not be paired to the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor as believed.
Instead, Tata has decided to team it with its 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that produces a maximum of 86 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. It will be offered in XT, XZ and XZ+ grades only.
What’s more, the Altroz automatic will also be offered in a brand-new exterior colour named Opera Blue. This model will also be available in other paint options such as Arcade Grey, Avenue White, Downtown Red and Harbour Blue and will be part of the Dark edition range.
Apart from announcing the commencement of Altroz automatic bookings, Tata also revealed that deliveries of the premium hatchback’s new variant will start from the middle of this month.
