Suzuki V-Strom SX Launched, Priced At Rs. 2.11 Lakhs

Suzuki says the beak design is inspired by the DR-Z racer and DR-BIG off-road models

Revealing the price of the V-Strom SX, Suzuki claimed the bike will be suitable for daily commutes, long rides, and exploring terrains

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the V-Strom SX at a price of Rs. 2.11 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) today. This marks the Japanese brand’s entry into the nation’s quarter litre adventure sports segment.

Called the ‘Master of all Adventures’ by its manufacturer, the V-Strom SX’s styling is inspired by the bigger adventure motorcycles from Suzuki’s global line-up, which is no bad thing.

The bike has a digital dash with Bluetooth connectivity

Up front, there is a LED headlamp, a short beak, a flyscreen, and a neat fender. The beak joins with the panel that extends till the fuel tank, while the bike features sharp panels and split seats in the back section, complemented by the LED tail light and long mudguard.

The hand guards, rear carrier rack, dual purpose tyres and high ground clearance all add up to give the V-Strom SX the much-loved adventure-inspired demeanour. The bike also comes with plentiful features like Suzuki Easy Start System, an USB outlet and Suzuki Ride Connect.

The latter, which works with the Bluetooth-enabled digital dash comprises features such as turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call, missed call, SMS alert, WhatsApp Alert, speed exceeding warning, phone battery level display and estimated time of arrival.

The bike measures 2180 mm long, 880 mm wide, 1355 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 1440 mm

Powering the motorcycle is a 249cc, oil-cooled engine that makes a maximum of 26.5 PS at 9300 RPM and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7300 RPM. The 1-cylinder mill is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox.

This is the same powertrain found in the Gixxer 250 and should prove to be enough to propel the V-Strom SX that weighs 167 kg (11 kg more than the naked on which it is based) when its 12-litre fuel tank is full of petrol.

Its road clearance is a generous 205 mm and the seat height is 835 mm

Sporting generous ground clearance, the quarter litre bike has telescopic front suspension and a monoshock in the rear. It has a 19-inch front wheel wrapped with 100/90-section tyre and 17-inch rear wheel with 140/70-section rubber, while stopping power comes from a disc at each end.
