The patent images of Suzuki’s Chinese partner- Haojue’s newly developed adventure touring motorcycle were leaked online. The bike resembles the V-Strom and might mean that a Suzuki V-Strom 160 could be well in the works.
The muscular tank, long beak, single-piece seat, tall windscreen and the rear luggage rack remind us of Suzuki’s ADV bikes. However, the engine reveals that the bike might be a 160cc spec.
The engine design resembles the one seen on the Haojue DR160S. This 162cc motor makes 15 BHP and 14 Nm of torque. These are not impressive figures, and we expect Suzuki to amp them up if they launch the V-Strom 160.
However, this particular bike looks to be primarily for the Chinese market, but what’s interesting is that this might act as a stepping stone for bigger bikes with larger engines.
Why is it interesting? Because a Suzuki V-Strom 160 might not make much sense in our country, but a V-Strom 250 will. If Suzuki mates the Gixxer 250’s motor with the motorcycle in the patent, it might result in a pretty neat and capable motorcycle.
Lastly, the V-Strom 250 makes even more sense if you consider that KTM is all set to launch the Adventure 250 soon, and even the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is somewhat off-road friendly.
