Suzuki Unveils Semi-Faired Inazuma GW250S

Suzuki has unveiled the semi-faired version of the Inazuma GW250, called the Inazuma GW250S at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. The semi-faired version of the Suzuki GW250 will go on sale in China first, followed by Japan. The company has also unveiled a police version of the Inazuma, called the GW250J. While the semi-faired version might not make its way to India (thankfully), the naked version of the GW250 is set be launched in India later this year, priced around Rs. 1.75 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Suzuki GW250S has a more upright seating position thanks to the raised handlebars, which along with the wind protector makes the Inazuma well suited for touring. The GW250J is going to be used by the Chinese police but our Indian pandus (cops) won’t be so lucky. However the extra body parts do mess up the mean B-King inspired styling of the GW250. That said, the GW250S is a more practical offering but we Indian’s won’t immediately take to its design.

The Suzuki GW250 will rub shoulders with the KTM Duke 200 and Honda CBR250R when it goes on sale in India. Powered by a 248cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which produces 26 BHP and 24 Nm, the GW250’s motor is more of a mid-range puncher than a top-end screamer. Will Suzuki unveil a full faired Inazuma, we hope not, as the company is better of replicating the GSX1000R’s styling on its quarter-litre offering.
