The Suzuki Hustler and the Suzuki Hustler Coupé compact city cars were unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year. The company has launched the vehicle in Japan now, priced between ¥1.05 million (Rs. 6.21 lakhs) and ¥1.58 million (Rs. 9.35 lakhs). The car will be sold in two body styles as mentioned and both these cars will be based on the Suzuki Wagon R platform. The Suzuki Hustler is built for people who are into nature and adventures, while also looking for a value for money alternative in the compact segment.

The Hustler and the Hustler Coupé are powered by a 658cc 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 51 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 63 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM, mated to a CVT transmission. The vehicle will also feature the same engine in turbocharged form producing 63 BHP of power and 95 Nm of torque, coupled to a CVT transmission. A fuel efficiency of up to 29.2 km/l can be achieved on the Hustler. A technology to control the brakes on snowy and hilly terrains has been incorporated on this minicar.

The Hustler Coupé has dimensions measuring 3395 mm in length, 1475 mm in width and 1630 mm in height. It has a sloping roofline that adds to the coupé characteristic. The standard Hustler has the same length and width while the height is increased to 1655 mm owing to the absence of the sloping roofline. The weight of the car is pitched at 790 kgs. The Suzuki Hustler can be opted in either 2WD or 4WD version. The company targets to sell a monthly average of 5000 units of the Hustler which is good volumes from such a body type.
