Suzuki Motorcycles has launched a cheaper version of the Intruder in India, called the Intruder M800. Also known as the Boulevard M50 in global markets, this low cost cruiser is priced at Rs. 8.88 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Featuring a 5-speed gearbox, the M800 features 130 section tyres at the front and 170 section tyres at the rear. Weighing a good 269 kgs, the low cost Intruder is around 80 kgs lighter than the M1800. The Suzuki Intruder M800 will be immediately available in 12 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
“The Intruder M800 is more focused as an entry level cruiser which performs like its bigger brother giving a chance to the Indian youth to step in to the world of performance biking,” Atul Gupta, VP (Sales and Marketing), Suzuki Motorcycle India, said.
The Suzuki Intruder M800 features a 805 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, V-twin motor which produces 53 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 62 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. This might be significantly less compared to the Hyosung ST7 and the Harley Davidson Iron 883, but we must not forget the stunning looks of the Intruder, which is similar to the M1800. So you get the looks of the Intruder M1800 for roughly Rs. 4.37 lakhs less with the M800.
