Suzuki has launched the Intruder M1800R B.O.S.S. Edition in India which gets a unique “Marble Daytona Yellow/Glass Sparkle Black” two-tone colour. The motorcycle gets its alloy wheels, engine and exhaust finished in black. Thus the changes are purely cosmetic and the Intruder B.O.S.S. Edition draws power from the same 1.8-litre, V-Twin engine which produces 125 BHP of power and 160 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki Intruder is quite heavy at 347 kgs and we are not quite sure if people will like the all-black treatment on the B.O.S.S. Edition as buyers in our market prefer chrome, which supposedly looks premium. The special edition cruiser is priced at Rs. 16.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) which is a Rs. 50,000/- premium over the regular Intruder. The higher amount doesn’t seem to be justified but buyers in the segment might not mind paying the extra sum for the exclusivity.
You must be scratching your head wondering what the hell does B.O.S.S. stand for? Does it have anything to do with Akshay Kumar’s latest movie? No it doesn’t. B.O.S.S. stands for “Blacked-Out-Special-Suzuki”. Maybe Suzuki should launch a B.O.S.S. edition of the GS150R or maybe the Japanese automaker will offer a similar special edition of the upcoming GW250, which is likely to go on sale in the next few months.
