Suzuki Hayabusa Meets OBD2B Norms, Gets New Colours
Suzuki has updated the legendary Hayabusa to meet the latest OBD2B emission norms. The new Hayabusa hasn’t increased and continues to be priced at Rs. 16.9 Lakh (ex-showroom). The superbike now gets new colours but no significant updates to the rest of the platform.
Differences With Outgoing Bike
The notable difference between the new Hayabusa as compared to the outgoing bike, other than emissions compliance, is the addition of 3 new colours: Metallic Matte Steel Green/Glass Sparkle Black, Glass Sparkle Black/ Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and Metallic Mystic Silver/ Pearl Vigor Blue.
Engine & Suspension
The Hayabusa continues to be powered by the liquid-cooled 1340cc inline four engine that produces 190 HP and 150 Nm of torque. It continues to be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a standard bi-directional quickshifter. There are KYB USD telescopic front forks and Brembo stylema 4-piston calipers.
Features
The Suzuki Hayabusa gets the Suzuki Intelligent Ride Systen (SIRS) which includes Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Power Mode Selector, 6-axis IMU, Power Mode Selector, Anti-lift control system, Motion Track Traction Control System and Engine Brake Control System. The riding aids also includes launch control, speed limiter, cruise control, slope dependent control system and much more.
Outlook
The Suzuki Hayabusa is a poster bike for many. The impressive suite of riding aids and features helps retain its legacy and meets present riding needs. The OBD2B compliance means potential buyers need not worry about the legal restrictions. This makes it a win for the enthusiasts and the government.
