In a welcome move, Suzuki has started assembling the Hayabusa in India. This has led to a Rs. 2 lakh price cut which will improve its sales further.
It was the Suzuki Hayabusa which spread the craze of superbikes in India. Even in the smallest cities of the country, a kid who doesn’t go to school would probably know the name Hayabusa and call every loud and big bike the same. The popularity is largely due to the presence of the motorcycle in a few popular Bollywood movies, namely Dhoom.
One of the oldest superbikes to be on sale in India and the world, the Suzuki Hayabusa has received minimal changes over the years. The design largely remains the same although the colour scheme is changed every year. The 2016 Hayabusa is available in India and sells in reasonable numbers. The local assembly will help boost the sales.
As a result of assembling the Hayabusa in India, Suzuki has dropped down the ex-showroom price by around Rs. 2 lakhs which brings down the price to Rs. 13.57 lakhs (ex-showroom,Delhi). This gives the Japanese bullet a massive advantage over its nearest rival, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R which is priced at Rs. 17.9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Suzuki Hayabusa is available in a variety of colours including red, white and black. This is one of the first superbikes to be assembled by Suzuki in India which opens the doors for assembly of other models too. Local assembly helps keeps prices in check which leads to better sales. A special production line is being used for the Busa assembly at Suzuki’s Gurgaon factory.
