Suzuki GSX-150 Bandit Launched In Taiwan, Don’t Let The Looks Fool You

A commuter with close to 20 PS, win-win?

Suzuki GSX-150 Bandit has been launched in Taiwan and before you come to a conclusion about the way it looks, just take a look at the specs.

The modest-looking bike with its LED headlight, short fairing and single piece seat has a 147cc, single cylinder DOHC engine that produces 19.3 PS at 10,500 RPM and 14.1 Nm at 8500 RPM.

What’s more it weighs 135 kg, which is light, gets telescopic forks up front and a Showa monoshock suspension at the rear, while braking is done via a 290 mm front disc and a 187 mm disc at the back. There is no ABS on offer, not even as an option.

Designed to be a commuter that does the daily duty-run well albeit a bit faster, the Suzuki GSX-150 Bandit returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 37.45 km/l.

Other features on the bike include a digital instrument cluster similar to the one on the India-spec Suzuki Gixxer, central-locking system for both ignition and fuel tank, hazard lamps and a decent seat height of 790 mm.

In Taiwan, the bike costs TWD 120,000 (Rs. 3.06 lakhs), about TWD 3000 (about Rs. 7650) less than the Suzuki GSX-S150 ABS. But the latter gets dual channel ABS and a different design.

We do not expect Suzuki to launch the bike in India. However, if launched, it sure will give 150cc bikes good competition since it has decent performance to say the least. Do you want to see this bike in India?
