Suzuki Gixxer SF FI has finally launched after being showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The fuel injected version is only available in select cities for the time being
Suzuki Gixxer SF FI has been launched in India at Rs. 93,499/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it around Rs. 5000/- more expensive than the carb model. The fuel injected Gixxer SF is currently available in select cities and dealerships. The Japanese motorcycle maker will gradually launch the new version in more cities across the country.
Many enthusiasts and potential buyers have been eagerly waiting for the launch of the FI variant since its showcase at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Gixxer SF FI was showcased along with the announcement of the rear disc brake variant, which was launched in April this year.
The fuel injection will now improve the fuel efficiency of the bike while offering better throttle response. The FI technology comes with 6 sensors that calculate optimum amount of fuel to be injected for better combustion. It comes with a 154.9cc engine that produces 14.8 PS of power at 4000 RPM with 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Suzuki is offering the fuel injected variant with the Moto GP edition only that has a sporty livery and the rear disc brake comes standard with the FI model. The Japanese bike maker also introduced special edition variants for the Gixxer twins recently. The frequent updates will help the manufacturer get good volumes, specially during the festive season coming up.
