Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS bookings have commenced across the country, deliveries set to begin in a week.
It was very recently reported that the Suzuki Gixxer SF will be coming in a special edition avatar equipped with ABS. While some believed it to be true, some just ignored the news. However Suzuki has now started taking bookings for the Gixxer SF ABS variant.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS will also feature a new 3-tone colour scheme with a new SP logo. The new red, white and black SP graphic scheme is expected to replace the previous grey and black one.
Suzuki will be offering the ABS in both carburetted and FI versions of the Gixxer SF in a new SP variant. The Gixxer SF with ABS will be the first such motorcycle in its segment to offer ABS. The single-channel ABS much like we saw on the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, works on the front wheel only which is disappointing.
In terms of price, the Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS is set to cost an additional Rs. 7000/- over the non-ABS variant while Bajaj charges a premium of Rs. 12,000/- on the ABS variant of the Pulsar RS 200. Meanwhile, TVS has priced the ABS variant of the Apache 180 at a Rs. 11,000/- premium but the RTR machine gets a dual-channel unit.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS will continue to be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled unit that produces 14.8 HP of power and 14 Nm of torque in both the fuel-injected and carburetted engines. This motor comes matched to a 5-speed gearbox. ABS making its way should add a minor weight of 1-2 kgs on to the motorcycle.
Suzuki hasn’t yet revealed the prices for the Gixxer SF ABS but dealerships have confirmed that this variant will cost an extra Rs. 7000/- taking the prices for the carburetted variant to approximately Rs. 96,000/- and Rs. 1,00,000/- for the fuel-injected variant (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
