Suzuki unveiled the Gixxer with dual discs and Gixxer SF with fuel injection and dual discs at the 2016 Auto Expo while the manufacturer also showcased the Gixxer Cup race bike and the 2016 GSX-RR MotoGP bike which was unveiled at the EICMA motor show in Milan last year.

The Suzuki Gixxer Cup bike is a fully-faired SF version of the street-fighter and is powered by the regular 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine that is tuned to produce 15 PS and 14 Nm of torque while mated on a 5-speed gearbox. The carbureted motor misses out on the newly launched fuel-injection system.

The difference between the regular Suzuki Gixxer SF and the racing bike is that the latter is equipped with racing spec features such as a new exhaust, high flowing air filter, clip-on handlebars, special tyres, aerodynamic rear seat cowl and aluminium foot pegs for the rear seat.

The 2016 Suzuki GSX-RR MotoGP bike on the other hand is powered by a prescribed 1.0-litre, four-cylinder, water-cooled, DOHC engine with four valves per cylinder that is claimed to produce 230 PS which allows it to achieve a claimed top speed of 330 km/hr. The motor is mated on a new seamless transmission.

The braking duties are done by Brembo dual carbon disc brakes on the front wheel while the rear one has standard steel brakes. The racing bike is suspended by Ohlins sourced units. The new generation Suzuki GSX-RR is built on a new aluminium frame and the new bike will be on the track this year.
