Suzuki Gixxer 250 will come to India and will share its platform with the recently launched Gixxer SF 250.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be a naked version of the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 launched recently. The bike will share its engine, chassis and other features with its sibling and is expected to debut in few months. Inspiration for the bike will be taken from the international-spec GSX-S125.
The bike will be based on the new 250cc engine that made its debut on the Gixxer SF 250. The Gixxer 250 is likely to take styling cues from the GSX-S125 and will get a sharp looking LED headlamp unit, sharp tank extensions along with a muscular tank. However, we expect the rear section of the bike to be taken from the Gixxer SF 250, with the LED tail lights. It will also get a double-barrel exhaust, with chrome garnish and gold coloured engine casing.
The bike will be powered by the new 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that churns out 26.5 PS at 9000 RPM and 22.6 Nm at 7500 RPM. This engine will be mated to the same 6-speed gearbox and might come with a dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike will shed a lot of weight and will be lighter due to the absence of the faring.
We expect the bike to be priced around Rs. 1.60 lakhs, which will be lower than that of its fully faired sibling. The Gixxer 250 will compete against the Bajaj Dominar 400, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, KTM Duke 200 and the Yamaha FZ 25.
