The sharper, smarter and more aggressive looking Ertiga Sport has been launched in Indonesia.
Suzuki’s Sport division had first showcased this vehicle at GIIAS 2018 in the form of a concept vehicle. The Ertiga Sport has a length of 4470 mm, which is 74mm more than the standard version. The car comes with an aggressive front grille, front under spoilers, side skirts and a rear spoiler.
At the front, it gets a sharp LED DRL set-up, placed above the fog lamp unit. It sits on 15-inch dual-tone polished alloy wheels borrowed from the standard variant and sports a Suzuki Sport badge in blue and red at the rear. Colour schemes for the vehicle include Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Snow White and Cool Black.
To complement the sporty exterior of the Ertiga Sport, the interiors come in an all-black dashboard and upholstery. It gets the same features as the standard version on the inside but has an added safety feature in the form of Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which is not available on the standard version.
Under the hood, the Sport variant comes with the same K15B 1.5-litre VVT naturally aspirated petrol engine, as on the standard version, producing 105 BHP at 6000 RPM and 138 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission which is priced at IDR 241 million (Rs. 11.72 lakhs) and the 4-speed automatic transmission is priced at IDR 251.5 million (Rs. 12.24 lakhs).
We expect Maruti Suzuki to launch a similar sporty version of the Ertiga in India with a 6-seat layout that will be sold through the premium Nexa dealerships in India. The automaker is expected to introduce the premium variant around the festive season and it will be powered by the new in-house 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engine options in India.
