Suzuki is likely to develop a new adventure motorcycle which will be positioned in the entry-level segment.
Suzuki recently launched multiple variants of the Gixxer in the Indian market. It has now been learnt that the company is considering the possibility of launching an entry-level motorcycle in the Indian market. Currently, the V-Strom 650 is available in India but it is slotted in the premium segment.
Suzuki feels that there’s a good market for entry-level adventure bikes not only in India but also worldwide. The company will use a 250cc single-cyl platform for the new adventure motorcycle with changes to the gearing. The bike will also get a new sub-frame and a long travel suspension.
The motorcycle will be manufactured in India but the R&D will take place in Japan with inputs from the Indian team. The bike won’t be very bulky but a lot of styling elements will be similar to the V-Strom range. The launch is still sometime away and we can expect the new ADV to hit the markets in 2021.
