Suzuki Ciaz Concept Showcased In Thailand Prior To Launch

A custom Suzuki Ciaz was just showcased at the 2015 Bangkok International Auto Salon in Thailand, as a marketing gimmick for the Ciaz sedan which is due to launch in the country on 8th July.

The Ciaz custom looks very sporty and bulky

The Suzuki Ciaz was launched in India in September 2014 to compete in the hardly fought C-segment. Though the car has been able to sell decently ever since its launch, it has never been able to dethrone the Honda City from the number one spot when it comes to sales and therefore, hasn’t performed as to the company’s expectations in India. The Ciaz is an elegant looking sedan with contemporary lines that gives it a very neutral styling. Everyone’s expecting a more sporty looking RS variant to launch in the country in the near future.

In line with this, a custom Suzuki Ciaz was showcased at the 2015 Bangkok International Auto Salon on 24th June. The custom car is just a concept, used to attract people towards the Ciaz which is due to launch on 8th July 2015 in the country. Design wise, the Ciaz concept is very tastefully done, keeping true to the original car’s design. The car is finished in a custom red colour with blacked-out roof and side view mirrors. On the front, it features a sporty black-gloss front grille with a new bumper, bi-xenon headlights and custom LED strips in the airdams. The main highlight on the sides are massive 18-inch alloy wheels, custom wheel arches, chrome door handles and side skirts. The rear gets a new bumper, LED rear reflectors, spoiler and a diffuser which has dual chrome exhausts in the middle.

Lots of chrome highlights are present all around the custom Suzuki Ciaz, giving it a different look altogether. When the Ciaz RS makes it to Indian showrooms, let’s hope that it is not just a normal Ciaz fitted with sporty panels, but rather a better looking custom Ciaz (somewhat similar to this model) that will be powered by a more powerful engine. The Thailand model will be powered by a 1.25-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine (also found on the Thailand Swift) that will send power to the front wheels. The engine will be mated to either a CVT automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission, promising a fuel economy of around 20 km/l.

The rear profile is probably the best-looking part of the custom Ciaz
