The new scooter teased by Suzuki could well be the Burgman hybrid
Suzuki Motorcycle India is all set to launch a new scooter, a teaser video of which was released recently, in the market tomorrow (18th November 2021).
The short teaser video reveals that the product has been created for the Gen Z and Suzuki says the scooter will have sporty styling inspired by motorcycles and that it will come with dynamic colour choices.
The new 2-wheeler has body panels with sharp creases, a low-set LED headlamp, blinkers integrated into the handlebar cowl, a small fly screen, triangular LED tail lamps and split pillion grab handles.
Further, it also has a digital instrument display (should be Bluetooth enabled) that has been lifted right off the Burgman Street.
However, the presence of the engine start and kill switch, and the muffler cover, which is identical to the one present on the Burgman Street, does indicate that this new scooter will very much not be a pure-electric model.
This could only mean that the teaser video is likely indicating the arrival of the Suzuki Burgman hybrid, as there are plenty of hints in the video indicating that the vehicle has some form of electrification.
It is likely that the Suzuki Burgman hybrid will be based on the same platform as the regular Burgman Street. It should also be powered by a 124cc motor good for 8.7 PS and 10 Nm of torque.
The hybrid system could provide it a bit more poke while accelerating from a stop and also take care of the start-stop system in the interest of improved fuel economy.
That said, all this is pure speculation at present and when the scooter gets launched tomorrow, the exact positioning of the product in the market, along with complete details, like specifications, will be disclosed.
