Suzuki Burgman 180 Under Development

Suzuki Burgman 180 is likely to be introduced in international markets.

The Burgman 180 will carry the same bulky body cladding as the Burgman 125

Out of all the anticipated launches, the Suzuki Burgman 180 is one scooter, likely to see the light of production. Possibilities of it being available are higher knowing that the engine can be sourced from the Suzuki Burgman 200, sold in Europe. It comes with a 200cc SOHC engine churning out 18 PS of power and 16.8 Nm of torque.

Suzuki hasn’t expanded its line-up for 2019 as much it was done back in 2018. The grid did see a brand new quarter-litre single-cylinder model, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and some minor cosmetic upgrades for the Suzuki Burgman 125 for 2019. But in the upcoming year, Suzuki will hopefully have a few more things up its sleeve.

The upgraded Burgman can probably make its way to India as the government has proposed a ban on all 2-wheelers under 150cc to promote electric mobility. But to sustain the market, a bigger engine can be slapped in the Suzuki Burgman with a 180 badge and some fine-tuning.

These changes will surely bring an added cost to the table. To compensate for the cost, the Suzuki Burgman 180 may have conventional telescopic forks at the front, disc brakes and probably single-channel ABS. Under-seat space is likely to be a bit more and other features like LED headlamp and an all digital instrument cluster may come as standard.
