The Suzuki Baleno made its debut in 2015 and has went on to become a highly popular premium hatchback. The Indian version of the car comes with safety features like dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. However, the overseas version of the vehicle is loaded with some more tech like a Radar Brake System that features AEB City and AEB Inter-Urban system.

The Suzuki Baleno has received a Dual Rating from Euro NCAP. In fact, this is the first year in which Euro NCAP has started giving dual ratings. The standard version of the Baleno that comes with dual front airbags and ABS has received a 3-star rating while the option pack variant that comes with the Radar Brake System has bagged a 4-star rating.

Euro NCAP stated that in the standard version, the only reliable Safety Assist feature was the seatbelt reminder system which is a standard fitment for all seats. While testing the car with the Radar Brake System, the autonomous braking feature worked very well and did not allow the crash to happen. The Baleno also comes with an optional speed assistance system too.

From this year onwards, Euro NCAP will be awarding 2 ratings to cars. The first rating will be given to the standard models and the second rating will be given to trims that come with safety features. This will help customers in a big way because a lot of manufacturers have this habit of misleading people by passing on the ratings of the top variants to the base variants.
