The Alto Turbo RS gets visual tweaks for a sporty look, while the engine has been turbocharged for improved performance. The car also boasts of improved cornering abilities.
Suzuki Japan has announced the launch of the new JDM-spec Alto’s sportier version called the ‘Alto Turbo RS’ at the Tokyo Auto Salon that is scheduled for launch next month. A Kei car in Japan, the regular Alto comes powered by a 660cc engine offering decent performance, while the Alto Turbo RS has been tuned to offer improved performance over the regular version, while the exteriors gets comprehensive upgrades that justify the sporty title.
The 2015 Suzuki Alto Turbo RS gets a redesigned bumper with fog lights with chrome inserts on the headlights and grille. The sporty quotient is further fuelled by the grey decals on the roof and front hood, while the RS decals on the sides add a nice touch. In addition, the bumper lip and ORVMs are finished in red along with red stickers at the sides. The car rides on 17-inch alloy wheels also finished in red, while the interiors get Recaro sport seats completing the package.
While official details are not out yet in terms of performance, power on the Alto Turbo RS is said to come from a 660cc engine seen on the regular version. In stock guise, the motor is available in two states of tune and makes 48 HP and 51 HP respectively, while the Turbo RS version will get a turbocharger installed that will bump up the power significantly. Suzuki states that the new Alto Turbo RS will certainly be fun to drive courtesy of its responsive handling and high cornering performance. The Tokyo Auto Salon is scheduled between 9-11 January in Chiba.
