Maruti Fronx leads the sub-compact SUV segment, the highest selling car in February
The sub-compact SUV segment is expanding rapidly and capturing a significant share of sales in the Indian market. The Maruti Fronx holds the top spot, leading by a huge margin with 21,461 units sold, marking a 51% increase compared to the previous year.
Following closely, its sibling, the Maruti Brezza secures the second position with 15,392 units sold. Meanwhile, the Tata Nexon comes in third with 15,349 units dispatched, reflecting a 7% year-on-year growth. The Tata Punch ranks fourth with 14,559 units, though it has experienced a 21% decline compared to last year.
The Hyundai Venue takes the fifth spot in the sub-compact SUV rankings, selling 10,125 units, with a 13% year-on-year growth. Notably, out of the 15 cars on the list, seven have witnessed a decline in sales compared to February 2025.
Among the recent entrants, the Kia Syros and Skoda Kylaq have made a decent impact, selling 5425 and 3636 units, respectively. Achieving such numbers shortly after launch is quite an accomplishment.
On the lower end of the sales chart, the Renault Kiger recorded 433 units sold, suffering a massive 59% decline. The Maruti Jimny, with 385 units sold, showed a slight improvement of 20%. The lowest-selling model was the Citroën C3 (including both ICE and EV variants), managing just 187 units, with a significant 36% drop in sales.
