The SsangYong Tivoli has been showcased at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo and the vehicle is going to compete in the fierce compact SUV segment.
Mahindra has showcased the SsangYong Tivoli at the Auto Expo and the automaker has actually been testing the vehicle on our roads since 2015. The Tivoli is going to be the second SsangYong product in the Indian market after the Rexton. The vehicle has a very pleasing design and the striking headlights come with LED DRLs. The bumper and grille blend seamlessly while the side profile reminds of a certain compact SUV.
The Tivoli also gets roof rails and a sunroof. The rear is a bit quirky but it looks good. The word Tivoli is written on the centre of the tail gate while the number plate is mounted below the bumper. Interiors of the vehicle have a modern appeal and seem to be loaded with a lot of features too. The overall finish looks very good and the Tivoli might attract a lot of attention from people who are looking for a new vehicle in this segment.
The SsangYong Tivoli is powered by a 1.6-litre e-XDI diesel engine that produces 115 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Some international markets also get a 1.6-litre petrol engine that produces 128 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. The vehicle gets a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox which is also offered on the Mahindra XUV500. The vehicle will compete with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross.
