The Mahindra Group introduced its South Korean subsidiary brand, SsangYong’s first offering in India, the Rexton in October 2012. The South Korean brand received good response from Indian buyers. Mahindra manages to sell good numbers of the Rexton for its handsome styling, feature rich cabin and competitive performance. The manufacturer is now studying the market to introduce more products from the SsangYong stable including the Rodius MPV, 5-seater Korando SUV and the recently spotted Actyon Sports pickup truck.
The SsangYong Actyon Sports pickup truck has been spotted uncamouflaged. The lifestyle pickup truck comes equipped with air conditioning, Bluetooth equipped multimedia system, reverse parking sensors, sunroof, ABS, airbags, alloy wheels, cruise control and few more features. The endless list of features is expected to be limited if launched in India to keep control of the pricing. The SsangYong Actyon Sports will compete with the likes of the recently launched Isuzu D-Max pickup truck.
The SsangYong Actyon Sports pickup is sold internationally featuring a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces a peak power output of 155 PS with a peak torque of 360 Nm, mated to options of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The Actyon Sports also offers a petrol engine option in the global markets but in India it is likely to come with diesel engine only for obvious reasons. The Actyon Sports comes with a double-cab configuration and it is not known whether it will make it to the Indian dealerships or not.
