The Skoda Superb Style edition adds sporty new black dashboard and Alcantara seats with a rear entertainment screen while the mechanicals continue as the outgoing model.
The Skoda Superb really hits the sweet spot when it comes to interior space, luxury, comfort and quality in the D+ sedan segment with a trick or two up its sleeve. As we always say, the sedan is better than some of the more expensive luxury Germans in segments above. Now, adding some novelty to the feature rich offering, the Czech automaker has introduced the new Superb Style Edition which gets new features to the sedan’s cabin for a sporty new look.
While the exteriors remain the same, the Skoda superb Style Edition gets a host of changes inside including –
- New all-black dashboard
- Suede finished premium Alcantara upholstered seats
- Headrest mounted rear entertainment screen
Coming to mechanicals, things remain the same under the hood with power coming from a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine producing 160 PS at 4500–6200 RPM and 250 Nm of torque available at 1500–4500 RPM. Diesel power comes from 2.0-litre TDI engine churning out 140 PS at 4200 RPM and 320 Nm of torque at 1750-2500 RPM. Transmission options on the petrol include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG while the diesel is paired to a 6-speed DSG automatic.
Spoiling the occupants, the Skoda Superb is loaded with 12-way electrically adjustable front seats, 6.5-inch touchscreen audio player with 8 speakers, multi-function steering wheel, TPMS, dual climate control, sunroof and a whole lot more. This probably would be the last edition on the outgoing Superb unless the company has something lined up for the year end as well. Skoda is currently testing the next generation Superb in the country that could go on sale by early 2016 and is likely to be offered in the coveted Laurin & Klement variant as well.
