Previous generation Skoda Superb to launch soon in India via CBU route

Skoda is set to reintroduce its flagship sedan, the Superb, to the Indian market. Scheduled for launch on 3rd April, 2024, the B8 generation Superb is anticipated to make a notable return, this time being imported via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route.

According to leaked internal documents, Skoda intends to bring in a limited batch of 100 units initially, with an estimated price tag of around Rs. 55 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Superb will be relaunched with the range topping ‘L&K’ variant, boasting a range of premium features including Adaptive Auto LED headlamps, LED fog lamps with cornering function, 17-inch Stratos alloys, Columbus infotainment system with Wired Smart Link, ventilated 12-way electrically adjustable front seats and a massage function for the driver’s seat. Additionally, it will also come with wireless charging, Canton sound system with 11 speakers, 3-zone automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster.

Safety features to include Dynamic Chassis Control, Electronic Differential Lock, Active tyre pressure monitoring, Park Assist with a 360-degree camera, Emergency Braking Assist and a comprehensive array of 9 airbags.

Under the hood, the Skoda Superb B8 will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 188 BHP at 4200-6000 RPM and 320 Nm of torque at 1450-4200 RPM. This engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. There will be no diesel engine on offer.

Skoda will be offering three colour options with the Superb at the time of launch – Rosso Brunello, Water World Green and Magic Black.

The Czech brand will be clearing the stock of the current generation Superb before they plan to introduce the new B9 generation Superb in the Indian market. For the time being, we will be getting the B8 Superb. The new generation sedan might launch by next year and we can expect both petrol and diesel engine options with the new gen model.
