The specs of the Skoda Slavia are similar to the Kushaq with which it shares its underpinnings
Skoda Auto has revealed the specs of its soon-to-be unveiled Slavia which will be the second product to be introduced under the brand’s India 2.0 project using the MQB-A0-IN platform, here.
While the Czech brand is still keeping the C-segment sedan’s design under wraps, although the official images of camouflaged mules do let out quite a few design elements, it has revealed the Slavia’s dimensions. The car is 4541 mm long, 1752 mm wide, 1487 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2651 mm.
Thanks to the relatively long wheelbase which is the same as that of the Kushaq, Skoda says the Slavia, which completes the brand’s range of sedans, will offer generous amounts of space for occupants.
There will be 2 turbocharged petrol engines on offer right from the get-go. The smallest unit is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder motor good for 115 PS, while the bigger 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine featuring active cylinder technology makes 150 PS of maximum power.
Both motors share a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the automatic options differ for each unit. The 3-cylinder engine gets a 6-speed torque converter, whereas the 1.5-litre motor can be paired with a 7-speed DSG.
Along with the Skoda Slavia specs, details about the car’s safety systems were also revealed. The front-wheel-drive Slavia will feature both active and passive safety features including up to 6 airbags to keep its occupants unhurt in the event of a collision.
