During the virtual reveal of the Slavia, Skoda announced that its bookings will begin today
The official reveal of the Skoda Slavia has taken place today and the brand will also being accepting bookings for the car right away for a token amount of Rs. 11,000/-. With this new product, the Czech brand is all set to take on strong contenders in the C-segment sedan market.
This new sedan will be Skoda’s first car to be unveiled as part of the second phase of its India 2.0 project and the second model to use the firm’s MQB-A0-IN platform.
Sporting a coupe-esque silhouette, the Slavia has a modern design language not dissimilar to the design of the new generation Fabia.
Up front, there is an upright radiator grille with vertical slats and a chrome frame. It is flanked by sleek headlights with L-shape DRLs. The bumper also houses a wide lower air inlet, fog lamps with chrome garnish for the housing and a splitter element.
Riding on 16-inch wheels (top models will get dual tone alloys), the Slavia has a sharp character line and chrome applique on the waistline.
In the back, there is a heavily stylised boot lid, split LED tail lamps, a finely contoured rear bumper with chrome applique and diffuser element.
Measuring 4541 mm long (wheelbase of 2651 mm), 1752 mm wide and 1487 mm tall, the Slavia will be offered in 5 colours – Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Crystal Blue (new), and Tornado Red.
Inside, the car has a dual tone dash with a central bronze-coloured element, 2-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, 8-inch digital instrument cluster (with 3 display modes), and dual tone seats.
Some of the other features the C-segment sedan will come with include ventilated front seats, Skoda Play apps, USB ports, electric sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless mobile charging, plentiful practical touches and more.
To be offered in Active, Ambition and Style grades, the Slavia will be offered with a 115 PS, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor and a 150 PS, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (with cylinder deactivation).
While a 6-speed manual transmission is the mainstay, the smaller engine can also be paired with a 6-speed auto, while the 1.5-litre motor gets the option of a 7-speed DSG.
As for safety, the Slavia will be fitted with 6 airbags, ISOFIX, TPMS, ESC (standard), traction control, hill hold control, ABS, EBD, vehicle stability management and an electronic differential lock system.
During the Skoda Slavia virtual reveal, the carmaker announced that deliveries of the sedan will begin in the first quarter (January-March) of 2022.
