Skoda should begin deliveries of the Slavia immediately after the car’s launch
Skoda Auto will launch the Slavia C-segment sedan in the Indian market in March 2022. It will serve as the replacement to the Rapid.
The Slavia was revealed only last month and it is underpinned by the MQB-A0-IN platform, the same architecture used by the Kushaq compact SUV.
Termed as a premium midsize sedan by its manufacturer, the car measures 4541 mm long, 1752 mm wide, 1487 mm tall and has the same wheelbase as the Kushaq at 2651 mm.
Being larger than the first-generation Octavia, the Slavia also has the largest boot (521 litres) in its segment and will come with features such as LED lights, alloy wheels and sunroof on the outside.
Inside, the C-segment sedan will feature a modern dashboard, auto air-con, a 2-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen (entry-level trim gets a 7-inch screen), auto-dimming IRVM, wireless mobile charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and so on.
Skoda will offer turbocharged 1.0-litre (115 PS and 175 Nm) and 1.5-litre (150 PS and 250 Nm) petrol engine options and 3 gearbox options in total with the car.
To be provided in Active, Ambition and Style grades, the Skoda Slavia launch price is expected to be between Rs. 9 lakhs and Rs. 16 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be packed with a good amount of safety tech too.
