The design sketches of the Skoda Slavia reveal a premium-looking vehicle destined for the C-segment
Skoda Auto India has revealed the first design sketches of the Slavia C-segment sedan set to be unveiled on the 18th of this month.
Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the car, which is only the company’s second model to be created under its India 2.0 project, features a coupe-style silhouette.
Skoda says the Honda City rival features an emotive design language and balanced proportions. The car also has strong character lines throughout, giving it a bold demeanour.
Up front, the hexagonal Skoda radiator grille dominates the Slavia’s front fascia. It is flanked by LED headlights with with L-shaped DRLs and circular fog lamps which are nestled in their own housing, just above the wide lower air intake.
Riding on multi-spoke alloy wheels, the sedan’s 2651 mm wheelbase is accentuated by the crisp side character line that runs from the front fender badge with the Skoda wordmark, till the wrap-around tail lamps.
It also looks like the Slavia will have chrome window garnish, while at the back, the car will have a large boot lid, split tail lights and a sharp bumper also housing a chrome element.
The car, which was mostly developed at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Technology Centre in Pune, will come with 1.0-litre (115 PS) and 1.5-litre (150 PS) turbo-petrol engine options and as many as 3 gearbox choices.
