Skoda is working really hard to bring out the most amazing products in the market. These products are intended to bring out the latest technology and design elements that the automaker’s engineers can come up with. The manufacturer intends to create a new brand image for itself and that is clearly evident from its new products, new design language as well as the new corporate logo. A couple of months back we had also reported about Skoda’s decision to redesign its dealerships throughout the globe. Now, after launching the new Octavia based on the recently-developed MQB platform, Skoda has showcased the VisionC Design Concept. The VisionC is also based on the MQB platform.
With the VisionC concept, the Czech-based automaker is trying to showcase its view of how their future vehicles will be designed. The VisionC looks typical Skoda, what with the straight body with multiple sharp lines and that family grille. However, we must say that even though the design is not extraordinary, Skoda’s designers have managed to make it look fresh. The lights look striking and when viewed from certain angles, it is easy to make out that the VisionC is somewhat Audi-inspired. The rear quarter view in particular reminds us of the Audi A7. The side profile also looks influenced from Audi. Skoda terms the VisionC Design Concept as expressive, emotional, dynamic and confident.
The Skoda VisionC is a 4-door coupe where the company intends to bring together a blend of design and practicality. Hence, this coupe comes with a large boot for all your luggage needs. The vehicle is based on the MQB platform as we mentioned earlier and the body is lightweight and designed aerodynamically to optimise performance without losing out on efficiency. Powering the VisionC is a 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine which is also capable of running on CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). The vehicle is said to consume 3.4 kgs of CNG per km resulting in lesser CO2 emissions of 91 g/km. The Skoda VisionC concept also meets the stricter EU2020 emissions regulations.
