The Volkswagen Vento’s twin cousin is coming at the 2012 Auto Expo and was recently spied around Pune. The company will start sales in March, 2012 with the Skoda Rapid (Codenamed VW SK251) being priced slightly cheaper than the Vento. The Rapid is very similar to the Vento in all aspects including engines, but with a slight design to distinguish it from the VW. It will be devoid of all the equipment which the Vento carriers as the company plans to avoid sibling rivalry. The Rapid will look quite similar the Fabia and won’t take any styling cues from the Vision D Concept. Set to replace the Octavia in India, the Rapid will be exported to global markets.
