Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Price Is Rs. 7.99 Lakhs

2020 Skoda Rapid Rider Plus — The Rider Plus variant can be had with four colour options

Skoda has launched the Rapid Rider Plus variant with a price tag of Rs. 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, pan-India).

The carmaker has been simply clever (got it?) by launching the car at an attractive price point to woo buyers even further.

The design of the car has not changed, but a few tasteful bits have been added to the exterior of the car. They include decorative side foils, glossy black decor on the B pillars, trunk lip garnish as well as new window chrome garnish.

The interior of the car gets a new dual-tone ebony sand interior, with ivory slate upholstery and stainless steel scuff plates with Rapid written on them.

There is a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartLink technology that is compatible with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, apart from USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth options. There are dust and pollen filters on the car to keep the cabin ambience fresh.

Other standard features on the car are rear AC vents, 12 V power socket in front and rear (on the centre console), height and length adjustable steering wheel, among others.

The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus will be available in four colour options – Candy White, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver and Toffee Brown.

In terms of performance, the car gets the punchy 999cc 3-cylinder 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 110 PS and 175 Nm of torque.

It comes mated to the same 6-speed transmission as on the entire range and offers economy figures of 18.97 km/l.

Safety features on the Rapid Rider Plus are dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front.

Also on offer with the Skoda Rapid Rider Plus variant is the rough road package and fuel supply cut off facility in a crash.

Customers can avail of “Skoda Shield” that the manufacturer claims will ensure six years of hassle-free ownership. It incorporates motor insurance, 24×7 roadside assistance, and an extended warranty.

For Rs. 50,000 over the base Rapid Rider variant, the Rider Plus offers more features but still maintains the value for money quotient. We think it should sell well in the coming months.
