The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition will be launched in India soon, will be done on the same lines as the international model.
Skoda is known to offer special editions of its vehicles and last year the company had launched the Octavia Black Edition. Now, the Czech automaker is gearing up to launch the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition during the upcoming festive season in India.
This special edition Rapid will only get cosmetic changes that includes a red exterior paint scheme, all black grille, black wing mirrors, blackened out 16-inch alloy wheels and a black tailgate spoiler.
Inside the Rapid Monte Carlo edition, Skoda is offering an black interior with faux carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, a flat-bottom steering wheel, mobile holder, unique floor mats, upholstery with red stitching on the gear knob, aluminium sport pedals and scuff plates.
The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 109 HP and 250 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre petrol engine that produces 103 HP and 153 Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, however they also have an option of an automatic gearbox.
The pricing of the Monte Carlo Edition is likely to be Rs. 30,000-40,000/- more than the regular variants of the sedan. The 1.6-litre petrol gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox while the 1.5-litre diesel gets a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Skoda Rapid rivals the Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
